„Smart City“

The motto of our interactive wall is “Touch the Future”. Many issues discussed in standardization address sustainable living models.

We distinguish three areas in which standards shape the future: “Future Mobility”, “Sustainable Living” and “Smart City”.

By touching the city and illustrations, you can bring them to life.

The subjects covered include:

A vision for the future of transportation that is highly topical in standardization now: in 2020, a technical committee was set up at the European standardization organization CEN.

eSafety and real-time traffic management

Extremely important for the hot topic of autonomous driving. A key challenge is to combine and analyze data from different sources in order to obtain meaningful information. This is why standards are needed.

Container tracking

Containers are tracked on world-wide trading routes in real time. This is made possible by modern technology and interfaces defined by standards. As a result, efficiency is raised and CO2 emissions are reduced in global trade.

Greening buildings

Vertical greening has many benefits: it keeps buildings cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Moreover, it is good for our climate and looks nice. Standards provide guidance so that everything can be planned, implemented and maintained safely.

Smart Communities

Smart communities

Standardization addresses numerous challenges in this field: infrastructure, affordability, provisioning, energy, lighting, mobility, etc.

They are already used in a great variety of fields ranging from aerial imaging, technical controls, agriculture, firefighting and reconnaissance to rescue operations – many exciting subjects in standardization.
